Problem with "Configure Lazarus IDE"
« on: October 27, 2017, 11:56:02 pm »
Hello,
i'm trying to start using Lazarus, i've installed the version IDE 1.6.4
i'm having a problem with the "compiler" and the "FPC Sources" on the first window to configure lazarus.

-for the compiler i've downloaded a file called "ppcx64", but when i browse it it appears this message: "Error: fpc.cfg is missing"

-for the FPC sources i've downloaded "fpcbuild-3.0.2",  the error is "Error: directory rtl not found".

im not sure what i should "browse" exactly to make it work.

i'm not familiar with this software, so it may be an easy step, but i can't find the solution on the web..please help me!

thank you,
Enrico

You have specified your "Downloads" folder. This wouldn't work. You should first properly install FPC and its sources.

Although the correct paths depend on your individual installation, the following settings should work on the most Macs (after correct installation):

function GetRandomNumber: integer; // xkcd.com
begin
  GetRandomNumber := 4; // chosen by fair dice roll. Guaranteed to be random.
end;
