[Solved] Hiding the dock
« on: January 04, 2018, 02:11:28 pm »
Hello,

i may have a stupid question.
But is it possible to hide 'The Dock' for just 1 application like Lazarus.
So if you start up Lazarus the dock disappears so you have more room on your screen?

You treat a disease, you win, you lose.
You treat a person and I guarantee you, you win, no matter the outcome.

I'm almost certain there is an auto-hide feature somewhere in OSX. Did you try a quick google search?

PS: See attached image.

Isn't it a new full-screen mode in osx?
you simply maximize a window and it takes over the whole screen (including dock area)

Afaik, it works by default for all (non utility) windows in any macOS app.

However, since Lazarus is multi-window application (by default) you might need to have docked interface.

You might also want to play with Lazarus.app bundle configuration and set up
LSUIPresentationMode in a way you'd like.

Ideally, proper placement of About and Quit would be nice too.

"Quit" is there twice already! :)
isn't not enough? :D

I think "About" is under Help already. no?

Sorry! Clicked a wrong button and unintentionally modified your post

But you can update the list of "must have" options at #30371. I'm planning to update Cocoa menus this weekend (and have the item resolved)

Right, with Mac IDE, eliminate Quit under File and move About to Lazarus menu.

I have set this mode to 'All suppressed'.
Now when i launch Lazarus the Dock is gone, but when i open another app the dock is there.
Thanks
