Whatsapp api
« on: April 13, 2018, 04:52:42 pm »
Hi guys, has anyone ever implemented the "Click to chat" button of whatsapp in a lazarus application? So open whatsapp parametrized as you can do for web pages or in android.

The only documentation I found is: https://faq.whatsapp.com/it/android/26000030/?category=5245251&lang=en

In your opinion, is it feasible?
Win10, Ubuntu and Mac
Lazarus: 2.1.0
FPC: 3.3.1

You have found the documentation.
So what is your experience?

(Are you having problems with it?)

Yes, the documentation works well, if launched from a browser. Because he asks if you want to open it with whatsapp for desktop. I would like to create a lazarus button that opens whatsapp for desktop and parametrizes with the bees. I would like to bypass the browser.

Not sure if this is possible (without pressing the button) on Windows/Desktop.

On Android you can use intent or even the whatsapp Custom URL Scheme whatsapp://send?text=.
https://faq.whatsapp.com/en/android/28000012

On Windows/Desktop you wouldn't even know if Whatsapp is connected to the browser or even if the user maybe uses the Windows App from the Store.

(For me the https page opened up Whatsapp for Web while I have the store-version installed and coupled. So it wouldn't even be of use for me to have a web-page button, or do what Whatsapp is doing with that button)
