[SOLVED] sudo startlazarus
« on: May 26, 2018, 07:13:24 am »
Since the database examples (Tools -> Example Projects) need root access, I have to start lazarus using sudo:
Code: Pascal  [Select][+][-]
  1. sudo startlazarus

Is working with Lazarus @root level the preferred way? Or just for these example projects due to where they're stored?

Don't use sudo startlazarus. To test those examples (on Linux), you should copy that folder to a new location (maybe Desktop).

Yes, create a directory for them under your home dir.
Tools -> Example Projects window should take care of it automatically. It is on my ToDo list...

Mostly Lazarus trunk and FPC 3.2 on Manjaro Linux 64-bit.
