'External: SIGKILL' in Ubuntu
« on: July 09, 2018, 10:40:25 pm »
Hi.

Recently installed Lazarus in Ubuntu 14.04.1 LTS using the files from: https://sourceforge.net/projects/lazarus/files/Lazarus%20Linux%20i386%20DEB/Lazarus%201.8.4/

Everything OK when installed, but when running and empty project (visual), the form shows but doesn't respond and after some seconds it turns gray and when I close the form, it gives the error 'External: SIGKILL' in Ubuntu.

Run startlazarus from terminal, see what it outputs, i.e. where it's stuck.

Hi Leledumbo. Running from terminal with startlazarus have the same efect, and I don't found some useful in the messages. The form just appears but the button "close" doesn't respond until the forms turns gray.

I've noticed if I show some Message Box in the OnCreate or OnShow events, the form starts normally.
