We are quit sure the FreePascal 3.0.4 or 3.0.2 works with win10 1709, as used before for some project, however, the win10 auto upgraded to win10 1803, fp.exe is no longer function is expected, excepts screen flickering one time then nothing, no IDE show up.

welcome for your solution or suggestion.

I survived the Windows update with no issues.

My environment:
1. Windows 10 Home Version 1803
2. lazarus-1.8.2-fpc-3.0.4-win64
3. lazarus-1.8.2-fpc-3.0.4-cross-i386-win32-win64

I can only think of the obvious:
1. Check video driver (upgrade/downgrade)
2. Reinstall a fresh copy of FPC/Lazarus in a new folder

I did not have any issues when I was forced to upgrade a few days ago. Maybe you should put the entire Lazarus installation and your project folder on the white-list of virus scanner. Windows Defender is becoming more "intelligent" (= destructive) from version to version.

There is a bug report, though, that programs with forms having many, many controls take considerably longer to load (https://bugs.freepascal.org/view.php?id=33705). "Normal" programs don't have this issue.

Another reason: M$ changed console.

There is an option in console's property dialog to switch back to old version of console.

Check it and fp.exe runs.
