Consensus on Language Features
« on: October 11, 2018, 08:20:27 am »
The title is almost the question (if it fits here):
How is consensus reached on new language features regarding freepascal?
Is there a suggestion box? And is there a discussion available regarding different topics (to understand pros and cons)?
Best to everyone.

  • Sensorship about opinions does not belong here.

Usually the developers list is a good place to start: people may have an idea for a feature that is already actively developed or already refused.
You can also enter feature requests in the bug tracker. Small features - preferably with a patch - are highly likely to be accepted if they make sense.
Larger features are always discussed on the developers list.
Object Pascal programmers should get rid of their "component fetish" especially with the non-visuals.
