« on: October 11, 2018, 04:31:26 pm »
Hello

I have just installed FPC and very pleased so far.

Forgive the naieve question, but if I have some PASCAL in a notepad file, how do I import it into the IDE?

Thanks

Phil

1. Save the file
2. Make sure it's extension is .pas.
3. Start your Lazarus IDE
4. Lazarus main menu > File > Open > choose the file
5. You will asked to create a new Lazarus project, answer Yes (see image below)
6. Choose "Simple Program" if it is a non-gui program

A standard copy / paste should also work; handy for short snippets.
Turbo Pascal 3 CP/M - Amstrad PCW 8256 (512 KB !!!) :P
Lazarus/FPC 2.0.8/3.0.4 & 2.0.12/3.2.0 - 32/64 bits on:
(K|L|X)Ubuntu 12..18, Windows XP, 7, 10 and various DOSes.
