Title: Stuck in one project
Post by: gabrieljim on June 11, 2018, 09:32:06 pm
Hey everyone, I have the latest Lazarus version (1.8.4), everything works great, but now I'm having a little bug.
Let's say I have project A, and I open it on Lazarus, when I go and open project B, the header still shows "Lazarus - Project A", and when I try to compile/run, it runs project A instead of B. I tried to reinstall and it worked for a moment but then I got the same bug where I get stuck in one project and can't run anything else.
I hope you can help me!

Has project B been saved in its own directory?

How did you save the 2nd project then? Or where you able to switch before?

How do you try to open another project?
- Drag and drop ? (Does it ask to open project)
- Menu: Project => open ? (This should do)

When your project is open, and you do
Menu -> project -> View project source
which file does it show? (check statusbar for full path)

Thank you for answering!
Yes, I was able to switch, when I reinstalled it let me switch too, but then it gets this weird bug. And I try to open the project by clicking the source file and by project -> open, but both give same result. Let me check the path

Yeah it opens another tab with the Project A source file, ugh, I wonder what's the problem here

Oh! Weird solution, the bug goes away if you just drag and drop the project, now I can switch normally, thanks for suggesting it!

I tried both (double click and drag and drop) an lpr file.
In both cases I get a dialog, with the choice to open as "project" or as "normal source file".

Choosing "project" and it works.

What OS do you have?
What are the exact steps to reproduce?  Did you open the lpr? or the lps?

If you do open "unit1.pas" that is not a project, and always just opens that source in the already open project.

I'm on Windows 7 64 bit.
Ah, I see, so that's why i wasn't able to change normally,i did tried opening another file and it switches normally.
Sorry for the dumb question!
